FOKALL

Editor ········· Tamara Ruiz Risser

We live in some weird and uncertain times. The world is loud, chaotic, and moves way too fast. Our senses are overstimulated by what surrounds us, our brains have trained themselves to cancel or ignore all that noise so that we don’t go mad. We are like racehorses, limited to looking forward, we don’t stop to see all the beauty that is provoked by this chaos.

Fokall is a publication whose main, and basically only purpose is to appreciate the beauty of our day by day, a reminder that not everything sucks. Stop, breathe, and let your surrounding affect you and your way of perceiving life. Train your eye to stop ignoring to see the beauty and the art in the messy and the ugly. And to recognize the value of the ugly too. When was the last time that you let the feelings overflow?

The people that collaborated in this compilation of images and thoughts have many things in common, but the most important is that we are passionate about our art. We don’t dare to call ourselves serious or professionals at what we do, mainly because we don’t know what we are doing. But we are devoted to this life and what to take inspiration from our experiences and transform them into art. That’s the essence of this fanzine, Fokall doesn’t take itself too seriously, tries to look at things from different angles, and plasm its beauty into paper.

Tune in to this messy visual playlist and let it get to you. Hopefully, it will free your sight. Stop being so hermetic, and let the feelings and the beauty caused by chaos overflow.
